Backwaters of Kerala

This tour leads you through the most beautiful state of India – Kerala “Welcome to God’s Own Country”. While doing this tour you will visit Cochin; “Queen of Arabian Sea”, visits the Old Fort area and enjoys the Kathakali dance show. Travel to Munnar; this hill station rises 1,600 m above sea level, enjoy the tea plantations in Kerala's high ranges, a museum exclusively for tea by Tata Tea. Continue travel to Periyar; the very sound of the word Thekkady conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations. Enjoy the early morning boat ride and spice plantation walk. From here we will travel to highlights of our tour Alleppey; the scenic backwaters of Kerala comprise serene stretches of lakes, canals and lagoons located parallel to the coast of the Arabian Sea and are one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The tranquil backwater cruises are a once in a lifetime experience. Alappuzha, known as the 'Venice of the East', is especially popular for its houseboat cruises where you can soak in nature at its finest form. Tour end at Kovalam; the most amazing sandy beaches, sunbath, relax and enjoy the sea food before fly back to home.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Cochin
Arrive at Cochin international airport, meet – great with our office representative & transfer to your pre booked hotel. Once you will reach your hotel our representative will handover you the travel documents and explain your entire plan in details.

Day 02: In Cochin
Morning after breakfast walking tour of Old Fort area and visit flower market. Later visit Jewish synagogue, Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church Chinese fishing net. Evening enjoy the Kathakali dance show.

Day 03: Cochin to Munnar (surface)
Morning after breakfast drive by surface to Munnar. En-route visit the Cheeyappara waterfalls.

Day 04: In Munnar
Morning after breakfast visit Lockhourt Gap, Mattupetty Dam, Kundala Dam, Top Station and the town of Munnar. Later Tea plantation walk to visit the tea factory.

Day 05: Munnar to Periyar (surface)
Morning after breakfast drive by surface to Periyar.
Overnight stay at hotel

Day 06: In Periyar
Early morning shared boat ride at Periyar Lake. Return to hotel for breakfast. Later spice plantation walk & visit the spice market.

Day 07: Periyar to Alleppey (surface)
Morning after breakfast drive by surface to Alleppey. On arrival board your houseboat and navigate in backwaters of Kerala.

Morning after breakfast day on houseboat and navigate the narrow lanes of backwaters.

Day 09: Alleppey to Kovalam (surface)
Morning after breakfast de-board the houseboat and drive by surface to Kovalam. Rest of the day at your leisure at hotel to enjoy the beach destination.
